Sleeping In

Its been stormy these past two weekends. The weather was very cool. Everybody was sleeping in. I remember I had a miniature Leica by Minox that Joy got me on her last Europe trip. This is a good time to put it into use.

Sapodilla

After moving into our new place, my Dad gave us a chico tree which we planted in our front yard. This is the second time we picked a couple of its fruits. They were just about ripe. Called Sapodilla in spanish, these were native to Mexico, and introduced during the Spanish period (ref. Pictorial Encyclopedia of Phil. Ornamental Plants by DAMadulid). I love these for their sweet and sugary brown flesh.

Sunrise After A Storm

I don't like beginning a blog with a depressing photo of a storm so I posted this instead. A clear and colorful sunrise over eastern Metro Manila hides the stormy day before. Just barely 24hours earlier, tropical storm Ondoy inundated Metro Manila, and flooded almost 90% of the city and surrounding provinces.
